Inside the Pack: Fall 2026
Welcome to the Season
The 2026-27 season is officially in full swing! Our CSDHL teams are deep into the season, CUHL teams just battled through the seeding round, and our rinks are once again full of cold air, loud cheers, and very proud parents.
And this season is extra special: the Ice Dogs Hockey Club turns 20! That is two decades of first goals, early morning practices, road trips, and friendships that last well beyond the rink. Thank you for being part of the pack.

A New Chapter for the Ice Dogs
Thank you, Bobby!
After years of dedication with the Ice Dogs, Bobby Scott is retiring. His coaching, passion, and leadership have shaped countless players and families. Bobby, thank you for everything. Our club wouldn't be what it is without you.
Congratulations, Eric!
Ice Dogs founder Eric Schneider is moving into an expanded role with Glacier's new ownership, Spectate Group. The good news: he is not going far and will keep supporting the Ice Dogs behind the scenes as an IDHA Board Member.
Welcome, PJ!
Please give a big Ice Dogs welcome to Paul “PJ” Eberhardt, our new Hockey Director. He has been coaching with the Ice Dogs since 2006, and now leads our day-to-day operations, communication, and programming.
NEW! Ice Dogs Annual Awards
Our club wouldn't be what it is without the legendary Bobby Scott. Inspired by his ability to develop more than just great hockey players, but great people, and by being at the core of what our organization is all about, these six annual awards celebrate what it truly means to be an Ice Dog.
Heart of an Ice Dog Award
Inspired by Coach Bobby Scott and the lasting impact he made on generations of Ice Dogs.
Presented annually to one player and one coach who lead with heart, put others first, makes those around them better, and understand that hockey is about developing great people, not just great players.
Ice Dogs Legacy Award
Presented to a graduating or graduated member of the Ice Dogs who has spent a significant part of their youth hockey journey with us and made a lasting impact on our program. This award is what it means to be an Ice Dog.
This person leaves a legacy on and off the ice and represents the bright future of our organization.
Ice Dogs Community Award
Recognizes an individual or family who has made an extraordinary contribution to the Ice Dogs community through their time, service, and support.
The award celebrates those who strengthen our organization and help make the Ice Dogs what we are while leaving a lasting impact for years to come.
Rock Star Teammate Award
Presented to a player who makes everyone around them better. They are supportive, selfless, positive, and always put the team first. They encompass the character every coach wants and every player wants beside them.
Chilly's Grit Award
Recognizes a player who demonstrates relentless effort, resilience, toughness, and a never-quit attitude. Through hard work and determination, they set the standard for what it means to be an Ice Dog.
Next Dog Up Award
Presented to a Mite player who already shows the Ice Dogs way. This player demonstrates leadership, respect, a great attitude, and is a supportive teammate. They set the bar for other young players at our club.
The Big Dog Bash Is Back!
Save the date! Our biggest fundraiser of the year returns Saturday, November 21, 2026 at 7:00pm at Half Day Brewing in Lincolnshire.
It is an adults-only night for Ice Dogs parents to relax, reconnect, and fundraise to keep player fees down as program costs rise.
This year's theme: 90s Prom Night! Dust off the scrunchies, frost those tips, and rent the powder-blue tux. Prom outfits are encouraged, and bonus points for anything that belongs in a 1996 yearbook. Chilly already had his prom portrait taken. Can you top it?
The best part? Entry is free for all current travel Ice Dogs families and alumni families. Your night includes a buffet dinner, unlimited drinks, live music, and first-class entertainment.
Plus, you'll have the chance to win:
FREE HOCKEY for a full season, 100% fees paid
VIP Parking Spot for one calendar year
